Ferrari Ki Sawaari is a heartwarming story of common men with big dreams and how one night changes their lives forever. It's a tale of small boy and his passion for cricket. His father Sharman Joshiwants to give the best to his son. His son has a dream of playing at Lord's cricket ground. To fulfill his son's dream the honest father performs a small act of dishonesty for the first time in his life. He borrows a red Ferrari for an hour but without informing it's legendary owner.
This Ferrari ride leads through a chaotic world of street-thugs and mass-weddings. Meanwhile, another saga unfolds - a grumpy old man and his secret wounds, and an epic rivalry that goes back 50 years.
Ferrari Ki Sawaari is shot at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London. Vidya Balan has done a lavani item song for the first time "Mala jao dya na" in the movie. The red Ferrari used in the movie is originally owned by cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Story: The story of Shanghai revolves around the assassination of a political activist (Prosenjit Chatterjee), who is seen opposing an upcoming infrastructure project in Bharat Nagar that is backed by the ruling political party. Though it is initially learnt as a drunken accident, Shalini (Kalki Koechlin) believes it as a cold-blooded murder. While porn filmmaker (Emraan Hashmi) claims to have the proof that will bring the government down. A high-ranking bureaucrat (Abhay Deol) has been appointed to investigate the case. One can easily witness Banerjee's versatility and clarity in his film making through Shanghai. Shanghai is one of the most bravest attempt of Banerjee. The film is definitely not what we call as a 'Mirch Masala movie', but it is based on the raw truths of the current times.
Performances: Talking about the characters, every actor has given their best. Dibakar's chemistry with Abhay Deol proved successful both critically and commercially. Deol, portraying a South Indian IAS officer, makes a mark for his role in the film. Though Kalki has somewhat repeated her distressed characters in films like Shaitan, That Girl In Yellow Bootsand Dev D, no wonder her performance in Shanghai was just marvellous. Coming to our very own Mr Serial Kisser, Emraan Hashmi, you can see a completely new Emraan this time. Hashmi has redefined his lover boy image in Shanghai and shines as the vulnerable Jogi Parmar. It looks like Emraan Hashmi is on a winning streak these days after Jannat 2, The Dirty Picture, and now Shanghai.
Banerjee's direction in Shanghai is sure to impress you with sensuous socialism and capitalism ideologies with a strong story line. In short, Dibakar succeeds in keeping us engrossed throughout the film.
Music: Coming to the music, the song 'Bhaarat Mata Ki Jai' needs a special mention as it has created good buzz all around. 'Imported Kamariya' has also become a chart-buster.
Verdict: On the whole, Shanghai is a serious motion picture that has a voice, unlike the typical and usual masala movies. Shanghai promises you a lot of social drama, ruthless and brutal politics and the realism of society that may change your insight towards many social aspects.
Directed by Dibakar Banerjee
Music by Vishal-Shekhar
Story: Rowdy Rathore narrates the story of Rowdy (Akshay Kumar), who is a petty thief and gets the thrill out of duping people. Rowdy falls head-over-heels in love with Priya (Sonakshi Sinha), a pretty girl, whom he met at a wedding in which he wasn't invited. The story takes a shocking twist after a six-year-old Neha enters into the picture and claims that Rowdy is her father. Rowdy decides to find out the truth behind the girl's claim, that finally unveils the mystery of the story.
Performances: Akshay plays a double role in the movie, that bestows him with abundant opportunity to flaunt each shade of his skill. Akki is in his best form, with his rowdy romance and comedy. Akshay promises raw action in the film and his one-liner ‘Don’t Angry Me’ is already on everyone’s lips, which make for a good recall value. Sonakshi plays a lovable, charming, yet impish character very well. Especially, the desi girl image suits her impeccably. The child artist portraying the part of Akshay's daughter, is really cute. Other characters like Paresh Ganatra, Yashpal Sharma, Gurdeep Kohli adds colour to their respective episodes.
Music: Pretty Sonakshi Sinha's red sari act on the number 'Chammak Challo Chail Chabeeli', draws a comparison with Kareena Kapoor's 'Chammak Challo' from Ra.One. 'Chinta Ta Ta' is the pick of the lot and the presence of leading actors Vijay and Kareena Kapoor and Prabhu Dheva himself gives it an edge, while 'Dhadang Dhang Dhang' and 'Aa Re Pritam Pyaare' are lively, full-of-zest tracks as well.
Talking on a serious note, the story of Rowdy Rathore goes illogical to some extent, but it won't disappoint you at all due to it's desi packaging. Akshay’s moustache and garish look in the film as Rowdy works for the character and his action skills were never doubted by anyone. The film reaches an all time high due to the fun, action And Akki's dialogues.
Verdict: Overall, Rowdy Rathore has the potential to set the cash registers ringing, provided it delivers what it promised. Rowdy Rathore is a total paisa wasool film, hence it's a must watch.
